Reversed Expectations

Roberto Cavalli Fall/Winter 2009

A little surprise: I quite like Cavalli. In fact, it was kind of a surprise what Roberto Cavalli sent on the runway. Sleek and deliberately gothic-esque. Craving for a modern and highly celebrated dark undertone. A tendency that finally reached Italian glam kitsch.

I love this collection - he's been veering away from the leopard prints etc for a few seasons now, but this time he's gone all-out. Did you notice how Julien Macdonald has done the same this season?

(Also, the pierced leather gloves in your first pic aer very similar to that of Gareth Pugh's menswear collection)
